Bath mat supplier checklist with textile samples for UK retail buyers

Bath Mat Supplier Checklist: 10 Questions UK Retailers Should Ask Before Ordering

Choosing a bath mat supplier involves more than comparing unit prices. UK retailers, wholesalers and hospitality buyers should also consider product specifications, minimum order quantities, production times, packaging and delivery terms.

Before requesting a quotation or approving a sample, ask the following ten questions.

1. What is the minimum order quantity?

Ask whether the MOQ applies per design, colour, size or total order.

At COLLUMN, our standard MOQ starts from 100 units per design. The final quantity may vary according to the product, dimensions, colour selection and packaging requirements.

2. Which sizes are available?

Confirm both standard and custom sizes before selecting a product range.

Bath mat sets commonly include 60 × 100 cm and 50 × 60 cm pieces. Depending on the construction, larger sizes such as 70 × 120 cm, 80 × 150 cm, 120 × 180 cm and 160 × 230 cm may also be available.

Rugs and runners can be produced in a broader selection of dimensions, including custom lengths for suitable designs.

3. What materials and constructions are offered?

Different customers may prioritise softness, washability, appearance or price.

A supplier should clearly explain the fibre composition, pile construction, backing option and intended use of each product. Common choices include cotton noodle bath mats, polyester washable bathroom rugs, jacquard constructions and tufted bath mat sets.

4. Can the supplier provide samples?

Samples allow buyers to assess colour, texture, dimensions, workmanship and packaging before committing to production.

Ask about sample pricing, courier costs and whether sample charges can be deducted from a subsequent bulk order.

5. What is the production lead time?

The lead time should be confirmed before placing an order, particularly for seasonal launches or promotional ranges.

Our typical production time is approximately 30 days after the design, specifications, packaging and sample requirements have been approved.

6. Can products be supplied under a private label?

Retailers may require branded labels, swing tags, inserts, belly bands, barcodes or retailer-specific packaging.

Confirm which private-label services are available, their additional costs and whether packaging approval is required before production begins.

7. What quality checks and tests are available?

Requirements may differ according to the product, retailer and intended market.

Buyers should discuss dimensions, colour tolerance, workmanship, backing, fibre composition, washing instructions and any required laboratory tests. Testing can be arranged on request where appropriate.

8. Which delivery terms apply?

A low unit price may not represent the final landed cost.

Ask whether the quotation is EXW, FOB, CIF or delivered. COLLUMN quotations are normally prepared on an FOB Istanbul basis unless alternative arrangements are agreed for a specific project.

9. What are the payment terms?

Payment conditions should be agreed before samples or production are authorised.

Our standard terms are a 30% deposit to begin production, with the remaining 70% payable before loading. Project-specific terms should always be confirmed in the written quotation.

10. Who manages communication throughout the order?

Clear communication is essential when coordinating samples, specifications, packaging, production and shipping.

COLLUMN acts as a UK-based sales and supply partner, supporting communication between UK trade buyers and our manufacturing partner from the initial enquiry through to production and shipment preparation.

Prepare a clear quotation request

To receive an accurate quotation, provide:

  • Product type or reference

  • Required sizes

  • Colours and designs

  • Estimated quantity per design

  • Packaging or private-label requirements

  • Testing requirements

  • Target delivery date

  • Destination country or port

Providing these details early helps the supplier confirm availability, pricing and production timing more accurately.
